Luxury

Austin Adventures is climbing the ranks in luxury, small group adventure tourism. Focused on family fun and adult travelers, Austin Adventures is now an award-winning guide for good reason.

This couple-owned and -operated company focuses on all-inclusive luxury in a rugged outdoorsy setting complete with exceptional dining and adventurous and unique experiences around the world.

With the Austin Collection launching new itineraries, families and groups explore the incredible history of Peru, wildlife of Alaska and remote nature of Nimmo Bay — all with luxury accommodations and services.

The new Collection series focuses on more remote, off-the-beaten path destinations in an elevated way.

Domestic

Guests at The Resort at Paws Up in Montana are treated to private luxury homes or glamping-level tents with more than 37,000 acres to explore. Hop on horseback and ride for miles or slip into waders and fly fish. Open year-round, guests enjoy hiking, biking, hot air ballooning, riding ATVs, rafting and endless other summer activities. Bring the kids in the winter and hit the slopes skiing, dogsledding and snowmobiling — among a long list.

Kick back and relax in Alaska. Not necessarily the first thought that comes to mind when mentioning the varied rough terrain of Alaska, but Sheldon Chalet is an absolute A-list retreat. Through Austin Adventures, guests arrive by helicopter in Denali National Park and rest in a five-bedroom suite, with room for up to 10 guests. Spend the day with the kids snowshoeing, sledding and skiing before relaxing in the sauna and gazing under the stars.

Arizona, on the other hand, is known for its remote luxury and relaxing appeal. Add on a little adventure with Austin’s itinerary at the Tanque Verde Ranch surrounded by the Sonoran Desert. Located along the Rincon Mountains, Saguaro National Park and Coronado National Forest, guests mountain bike, horseback ride and explore the wide-open beauty on foot. Kids love the Old West programs, including leather working and silversmith creations while you relax at the spa.

Abroad

Get your passports ready and head to the Atacama Desert in Chile. Explora in Atacama, Chile, is a 5-star hotel nestled in the Andes. The views are truly breathtaking as guests bike, hike and ride on horseback through the red soil esplanades and along a volcano base. Relax in the hot springs, enjoy traditional barbeque, live music, dancing and scanning the starry sky from the hotel’s private observatory.

Fly or float into Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort in British Columbia, Canada, as it is only accessible by helicopter and floatplane. Tucked away in the Great Bear Rainforest, this 18-cabin resort sits on stilts at the base of Mt. Stephens. Visit waterfalls and kayak along the river. Lookout for wildlife on heli-hikes or watch for whales on the Broughton Archipelago.

Peru’s Sacred Valley is a must-visit for adventure travelers. Stay in Explora, Sacred Valley and indulge in Peruvian cuisine and immerse your family in tradition and culture with Quechua weavers, 17th-century architecture and iconic Machu Picchu mountain tours.
