Age Specific / Adult Children

For a city as heavily visited as London, there is never a shortage of beautiful and functional accommodations for families. Add a few more to your list with these new London hotel openings planned for early 2019.

The Great Scotland Yard Hotel

The Unbound Collection by Hyatt makes its debut into the United Kingdom with The Great Scotland Yard Hotel. The newly renovated, luxury lifestyle hotel and reimagined space will offer 153 rooms within the historic London Metropolitan police station — hence the name — once an operating police station devoted to hunting down some of England’s most notorious criminals, including the elusive Jack the Ripper. Expect a blend of old-world London history and high-end luxury and comfort — perfect for your true-crime fans and resident history buffs.

Vintry & Mercer

Vintry & Mercer Hotel is a new stay located in the heart of London along the streets surrounding the River Thames. Vintry & Mercer is named for the history of local London winemakers (Vintry) and high-end textile merchants (Mercer) hawking fine silks along the surrounding narrow streets. The all-new 92 guestrooms will exude contemporary style amid a varied history and bustling city streets — perfect for business travel with a historic twist. The quaint atmosphere and off-the-beaten path vibe is perfect for your Instagramming teens and adult kids.

Mama Shelter Shoreditch

Mama Shelter announced a new 193-room property, Mama Shelter Shoreditch — previously known as the RE Hotel London Shoreditch. Located in the industrial region of the city and a short walk from the Cambridge Heath train and Bethnal Green subway, Mama Shelter Shoreditch will be more than just accommodations for the night. The new and generously spaced restaurant, meeting rooms and indoor-outdoor lounge spaces are expected to be a hub for busy tourists and locals seeking a grab-and-go option, or a place to stay and unwind. Also, it’s a great homebase for active families looking to hop on a train and explore more of the city, and beyond.

Stratford at the Manhattan Loft Gardens

Opening in the spring of 2019, the Stratford Hotel will be a 145-room hotel within the newly completed Manhattan Loft Gardens skyscraper. While in total a 42-story building, Stratford Hotel will be found on the first six floors amid the bustle, fun and local attractions of the surrounding neighborhood, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Of the 145 guestrooms and suites, families expect floor-to-ceiling windows and fine furnishings, including heated floors and individual bathtubs in stone-finished bathrooms with heated floors and separate bathtubs. The older kids will love the hotel’s various pop-up parties, live music and even fitness events located throughout the building.

Hard Rock Hotel London

Another spring 2019 opening, the new Hard Rock Hotel London will stand out in the crowd. Expected to boast around 1,000 rooms and suites, the new hotel couldn’t be in a better location for lively guests.

Situated on the corner of Park Lane and Oxford Street, an iconic city locale, active guests will be a short walk from chic shops, must-visit dining options and theater venues, not to mention, the lush greenery of Hyde Park. The brand is known for its nightlife and attention to detail when it comes to entertainment.
