Bark Social

Multigenerational

Dog-loving people will let you know traveling with their furry companion is a bonding experience like no other. At Bark Social in Bethesda, Maryland, guests can sit back, relax and enjoy a brew or two surrounded by energetic pups. No need to worry about the occasional dog outburst as professionally trained Bark Rangers monitor the grounds for a clean, safe play area.

The 25,000-square-foot, open-air space includes plenty of seating for couples, groups and individuals who just want to hang out with dogs. Visitors can enjoy a self-pour beer station with 20 rotating local craft brews. Each beer is priced per ounce. The higher the ABV percentage, the higher the price per ounce. Non-alcoholic drinks, like coffee, lattes, cider, soda, water and teas, can all be purchased at the concession stand. Outside food is prohibited as all food items on the menu have been carefully curated to ensure no ingredients toxic to dogs enter the park. These menu items include empanadas, salads, sandwiches, pizza, pretzels and breakfast foods.

Before entering Bark Social, fur parents must fill out paperwork that confirms their pooch is up to date on their shots. Photo evidence of vaccinations are required. Water and waste bag stations are scattered throughout the park for visitors to use. For an additional cost, dog baths are available with shampoo and towels to tidy up pets before their car ride home.

Visiting Saudi Arabia means introducing the family to a country rich in culture and history, giving the kids experiences they won’t get anywhere else in the world. I spent several years living as an expat in this desert kingdom, and the experiences I had were not only completely unique but also helped shape my perspective on the world today.
