Sometimes the most popular beaches around the world are also the least family-friendly and priciest. But family travelers will find beaches not only good for kids but also easy on the wallet.
Factoring in the number of hotels in the area, average meal cost for a family, number of beaches and attractions, safety index, and average family room cost, these destinations around the world rank as the top for beachy and family-fun adventures:
Istanbul, Türkiye, is named as the most affordable city for families seeking sunshine and sea. With a whopping 352 hotels to choose from and 41 beaches to splash in, the city has it all. It also boasts low hotel prices and transportation costs.
Phuket, Thailand, takes second and, although with fewer options for hotels compared to Istanbul, Phuket had 46 beaches and a relatively high safety index to give parents peace of mind.
Other cities named include Hurghada, Egypt; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Sydney, Australia; Auckland, New Zealand; Doha, Qatar; and Cartagena, Colombia.
Doha, Qatar, has the highest safety index rating and most beaches (90), while average family hotel room costs are lowest in Cartagena. Istanbul and Rio de Janeiro are home to more than 400 family-friendly attractions.
The study was conducted by Eminent, an online luggage company.
