Spring is right around the corner, making it the perfect time to plan a family trip to the Pocono Mountains. Located in the foothills of Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains, Blue Mountain Resort announced opening dates for its spring attractions.
The resort’s inaugural Trail Running Camp will kick off the spring season at Blue Mountain. The three-day, limited-space event will run from Friday, April 29, through Sunday May 1. The camp will be led by knowledgeable coaching staff trained to analyze running forms, as well as provide recommended nutrition tips for proper fueling and training. Participants will stay at the resort’s basic campsite with amenities.
The bike park boasts Pennsylvania’s largest downhill mountain park, with the highest vertical located in the Poconos. Mountain bikers, from beginners to experienced, can take on and navigate Blue Mountain Bike Park’s 28 trails. The trip uphill is provided by the high-speed Comet Quad Lift. Beginners should check out Shakedown Street, a wide three-mile-long trail with gentle turns. For intermediate bikers, take on El Camino. Conquer berms and go to the Ewok Village for practice on smaller hops. Advanced mountain bikers can take on all the challenges Upper Empire and The Swartz has to offer. The trails combine large tabletop jumps and drops. The trails will open to season passholders May 14 and to the general public a week later.
Summit Adventure Park
Opening May 14, Summit Adventure Park is perfect for family and friends looking for outdoor adventures in the mountains. For stunning views, the ropes course offers four levels of tree-top difficulty. Adventure Tower serves as the ultimate adventure combination, featuring the aerial park where you can free fall or zip line from the Tower. Guests can also take on the rock wall with different areas for skill levels or go ziplining at night and climb under the stars with laser lights and glow sticks.
