Destinations / North America

Welcoming fans from across the country, the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn., hosts Super Bowl LII Feb. 4, 2018. The city of Minneapolis is putting preparations into high gear, from flights and transportation to accommodations.

For fans, families and visitors of all ages, expect high prices and stepped-up services from this Super Bowl-ready city.

Flights

With so many fans expected in attendance, United is adding 16 flights to Minneapolis in preparation for the big game. With a domestic hub at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, the added flights and new routes will be a game changer for football fans on their way to the Super Bowl.

Added flights and non-stop services expanded from Boston (BOS); Providence, R.I. (PVD); and Philadelphia (PHL) — the most invested fans for both the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles.

Even the aircraft will be upgraded, as most of the additional United flights will be serviced on a Boeing 737. For those traveling Feb. 2, United added an evening flight from Boston to Minneapolis (MSP) on the larger Boeing 777 wide-body aircraft.

Ride Sharing

With so many fans heading to Minneapolis for the 2018 Super Bowl, transportation and rideshare platforms stepped up their game. New to the Minneapolis scene, Cargo recently announced its launch in partnership with Red Bull, providing in-car product sampling for travelers using the rideshare company over the weekend. During the Big Game on Feb. 4, rideshare users receive a complimentary Red Bull on their way to the game or the after-party to invigorate them for the long weekend.

Check out the middle console for goodies available for purchase, or check out the full menu online. Simply log onto the site on your phone, search through menu items and find the code on the driver’s Cargo box, select a product and purchase. Choose from beauty products, green tea masks, snacks for the kids and hangover remedies for adults.

Accommodations

This is where Super Bowl travel gets a little tricky. With Airbnb prices skyrocketing and hotels filling up left and right, lodging will take a bit more effort to achieve. Diehard fans should consult Prime Sport and check out packages including accommodations and tickets. Prices range from $5,300–9,500 — needless to say: The Super Bowl will be an unforgettable trip.
