Pennsylvania’s Cumberland Valley is packed full of things to do, and for the rest of the winter and spring, you can add the Coffee and Chocolate Trail to the list. Families travelers to the area won’t want to miss this year’s version of the trail, which pays homage to one of America’s favorite TV shows, Friends.
Visitors can download a digital passport (and use across the valley from now until May 11). Checking in with your passport at participating locations, which include coffee shops, chocolate shops, bakeries, candy shops and more, lets you collect points and earn prizes. This year’s trail features prizes like stickers, magnets, car coasters, travel rings, socks, kitchen towels, and coffee-related swag like coffee scoops and frothers. You’ll also get discounts and special offers you can use at spots along the trail. The passport is free, gets delivered directly to your phone by text or email, and doesn’t require an app to use.
By including both coffee and chocolate on the trail, Cumberland Valley has created an experience that lets the entire family enjoy themselves. And with nearly 30 locations including spots like Exquisite Chocolates and Helena’s Chocolate Café and Creperie in Carlisle, Pennsylvania Bakery in Camp Hill, and Cracked Pot Coffee Shop with locations in Mechanicsburg and Carlisle, you have a good excuse to tour the whole region.
This year’s trail also includes a special tie-in to the Friends theme. While you’re on the road, you can enjoy a curated road trip playlist on Spotify that pairs the nostalgia with the joy of delicious coffee and chocolate thanks to great songs from the TV show for your road trip soundtrack.

Icelandair is well-known for its stopover program, which allows passengers to stay in Iceland for a few days at no extra charge. It’s a great way for families to see a new place and explore a new country on their way to and from Europe. When my family travels, we enjoy spending a couple days exploring Reykjavik and Iceland’s natural beauty as part of our trip. Iceland has become one of my family’s favorite destinations. We always find something new to do, no matter how many times we visit.
