New Orleans’ Krewe of BOO! is back and better than ever this year, promising family travelers a weekend full of spine-tingling fun. As New Orleans’ Officially Halloween Parade in 2007, Krewe of BOO! continues to prove a popular event for all.
Here’s what’s in store this year:
Zombie Run
Begin the day with a fun twist at the New Orleans Zombie Run! Costumed runners face off against the Zombie Killers (aka the Big Easy Rollergirls) in a chase that’s sure to be both hilarious and exhilarating.
Spectacular Floats
Each float, crafted by world-renowned Kern Studios, features a blend of horror and creativity. From ghastly ghouls to monsters, floats come to life through intricate fiberglass and paper-mâché sculptures.
Epic Afterparty
The festival continues through the Warehouse District, where the biggest Halloween parade locks off. Put on your most creative costume and join the Krewe members for the legendary Monster Mash.
The festival and parade will take place Oct. 19, with the parade beginning at 6:30 p.m. The parade starts at Elysian Fields Avenue, venturing through the French Quarter before ending at Andrew Higgins Drive. The route promises scenic views and plenty of opportunities to catch those desired throws.
