Get the family outdoors in the fresh air to discover San Antonio’s unique personality with a Mural Ride. These bike ride tours aren’t just a great way to get up close and personal with some of the city’s most impressive murals, but the tour is also a great way to explore the city itself.
The tour includes cruiser bikes and helmets, so all you have to do is show up and enjoy the ride. Local cyclists who know their city inside and out give you an insider’s look at the city’s vibrant street art scene. The five- to eight-mile ride encircles the downtown area, where you will also get to take in the city’s beautiful scenery and architecture. The guides gives you the history of the murals and their artists along with insider tips on the city itself.
Tours are available on Wednesday, Thursday and the weekends, starting at $45 per person. Each tour lasts between 1.5–two hours, and you can expect to see more than 20 murals created by some of the city’s most talented artists. The route takes you safely along city streets, avoiding any up-hill segments to make the tour ideal for all skill levels. If you have your own bike, you are still welcome to join the tour at a lower rate.
