Family travelers will find new attractions and experiences in Kissimmee, Florida, this year. Nearby theme parks have added new features to keep children and their parents entertained, too.
Take an afternoon or sunset cruise on the historic paddle wheeler Pearl of the Lake, a new offering from Toho Riverboat Adventures. Enjoy the lakeside scenery from the open-air deck, where you can spot birds with the provided binoculars and identify them from the ship’s wildlife book.
Your kids can see more exotic wildlife on a ride through Drive-thru Safari Park, where more than 150 animals from around the world roam freely on the 170 acres of wild land. As you drive the 4-mile track, your kids may spot giraffes, zebra, eland antelope, scimitar oryx, American bison, mouflon sheep and others from the African savanna or North American northern forests.
In the spring, SeaWorld opens the Penguin Trek family coaster with an immersive Antarctic adventure featuring two exhilarating launches and a grand finale at the penguin habitat. Your family can also get an insider’s look at SeaWorld by joining the Trainer for a Day program.
At Disney World, kids can follow the new landscaped walking trail inspired by Moana to enter a tropical world filled with water-themed surprises.
