There’s some pretty exciting new openings and experiences for families traveling to Cleveland, Ohio, this summer. From new exhibits at museums and attractions to new outdoor experiences and facilities, the summer opportunities in Cleveland are practically endless.

New Primate Forest at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
The zoo’s Primate Forest soon opens as part of a two-part project. A later phase will expand the footprint to include the Gorilla Forest.
The state-of-the-art Patrick S. Parker Community Sailing Center recently opened, offering Lake Erie and Cleveland skyline views, unique experiences like sailing aboard a 1960 Mini Tall Ship or restored 1930s wooden motor yacht that served in World War II, and family-friendly waterfront dining.

Great Lakes Science Center Debuts Titanic Exhibit
The Artifact Museum is open now through Jan. 18, 2027, at Great Lakes Science Center, featuring more than 200 authentic artifacts recovered from the wreckage site. The exhibition tells the story of the ship and her passengers and crew, including life-sized reconstructions of the ship’s most famous rooms, as well as a VR experience.
Progressive Field Completes Renovations
The newly renovated Progressive Field welcomes families to watch a Guardians game. Over in section 170, families can snap a photo in front of a giant new interactive mural by artist Lisa Quine.

Downtown’s Public Square Celebrates 10th Anniversary
The city’s public square celebrates its 10th birthday with massive family programming, including line dancing and outdoor movie nights.
It’s easier to get around the city thanks to the new Cleveland Water Taxi, offering daily, weekly and seasonal passes for its hop-on/hop-off water shuttle system. Avoid expensive parking garages and traffic with this service. Kids will love the alternative transportation, too.
