During the month of October, San Diego’s hotels, restaurants and attractions invite families to explore the city on a budget at the annual Kids Free San Diego. In its 10th year, the event provides parents with unique deals designed especially for kids, including complimentary admission to local attractions, free meals and welcome amenities at hotels.
Attractions
San Diego Zoo offers free admission to children ages 3–11, when accompanied by a paying adult. SeaWorld San Diego offers free admission for kids ages 3–9 with one full-paid adult ticket to experience the park’s fall Spooktacular event, running through Oct. 31. Children ages 2–12 gain free admission to LEGOLAND California Resort with one paid adult admission. Kids take part in a free, two-hour speedboat tour of San Diego Bay with two paid adults from Speed Boat Adventures.
Hotels
Paradise Point Resort & Spa gives kids ages 12 and under a $50 resort credit “allowance” to use on ice cream, toys from the gift shop and more. Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa offers free meals for kids ages 12 and under for each paid adult entrée at the on-site Oceana Coastal Kitchen. Kids ages 12 and under receive a free activity kit upon check-in at La Valencia Hotel. The kit includes a take-home bag, activity book and details for a scavenger hunt.
Restaurants
Enjoy a free kids meal with the purchase of a paid adult meal at Carnitas’ Snack Shack Embarcadero, Casa Guadalajara and Galaxy Taco.
