Family travelers won’t want to miss the beautiful and vast flower fields of Carlsbad, California, officially in bloom now. And to celebrate the launch of the spring season in this Southern California beach town, the region has launched its Power of Flowers campaign, in which hotels and businesses across Carlsbad join in on the flower fun made famous at the Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch.
The Power of Flowers runs through May 31. During this time, visitors can use Carlsbad Good Ride, a free, 100 percent electric transportation program in partnership with Circuit to make travel with the family throughout Carlsbad a breeze.

Of course, the focal point of the flower season is none other than The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. This 55-acre farm teems with Giant Tecolote Ranuculus flowers, which bloom for six–eight weeks each year (March through mid-May). This flower season, take part in a wide variety of activities, like floral mazes, tractor rides, picnics, live music, flower crown workshops, tea in the garden and more.

Even hotels joined in on the power of the flower. Omni La Costa Resort & Spa hosts a 5K Flower Frolic, in which guests can look for hidden treasures throughout the property. The on-site Power of Flowers kids’ program is offered each Sunday, and guests can take part in self-guided flower tours and floral-inspired bites.
Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach hosts the Run for the Coast – A Kentucky Derby Party on May 4, 2–6 p.m., to celebrate the 150th Run for the Roses. Lounge on the lawn with views of the Flower Fields and enjoy an outdoor BBQ, live music, a large outdoor screen to watch the race, lawn games, a giveaway, photo booth and more.
Many other hotels take part in the flower season in Carlsbad with special offerings, including The Cassara Carlsbad, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton; SpringHill Suites by Marriott Carlsbad; Beach Terrace; Ocean Palms Beach Resort; Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach, a Hilton Resort & Spa; and Residence Inn by Marriott Carlsbad.
