Between Dec. 7 and 10, family travelers to northeast Florida can transport themselves back to Victorian England at the annual Dickens on Centre festival on Amelia Island. The free festival transforms downtown Fernandina Beach into the largest Christmas market in Northeast Florida.

Here’s what awaits at this year’s festival:
Dickens Illuminated Procession
On Dec. 7 at 5 p.m., the kick-off parade begins. Food will be available for purchase from local food trucks, and visitors are encouraged to bring battery-operated, illuminated lanterns or something that shines, glows or twinkles to carry along the way.
Dickens After Dark
On Dec. 9 at 5 p.m., join in this exclusive Victorian costume party at the historic Lesense House on Centre Street. Open to visitors aged 21 and up, this event features stilt walkers, jugglers, a Fire & Ice Show by Kristen Sparrow Circus and live music by Mama Blue. Expect great outfits, tasty food and a surprise or two. Don your best Victorian ensemble.

Dickens Enchanted Village
Between Dec. 8 and 10, reserve a time to experience one of eight festive domes, each decorated in a unique holiday theme. The one-hour experience accommodates up to six and includes a private snow globe and delicious charcuterie grazing box by Luxe Picnics by Les.
Portraits with St. Nick
Santa sets up his workshop in Tiny Tim’s Kid Zone, Dec. 8–10, letting families capture the moment with a treasured keepsake phot from Boston Photography. Time slots are available to reserve.
Parade of Paws
On Dec. 9 at 11: 30 a.m., the best-dressed local dogs and pets come together at the start of 4th and Centre streets and show off their best outfits through Wharf Main Stage. Prizes are awarded for Best Victorian, Most Original, Looks Most Like Owner and top 3 overall, provided by Redbones Dog Bakery.

Fezziwig’s Courtyard
Between Dec. 8 and 10, this courtyard transports visitors to a time of joy and holiday cheer, much like the spirit of Mr. Fezziwig in A Christmas Carol. Enjoy main stage entertainment while sipping holiday beverages by Marlin & Barrel.
