Step back in time to the 1600s and experience the colonial heritage of the towns of Odessa and New Castle in Delaware. The historic homes in Odessa are decked out in festive holiday decorations throughout the season. The Corbit-Sharp House serves as host for many of Odessa’s holiday events. Throughout the month of December, New Castle invites visitors to take an insider’s look at private homes and museums, including Amstel House and New Castle Court House Museum, decked out in fabulous festive decorations. Enjoy live music throughout the town during the holiday season.

A trip to the region isn’t complete without a visit to Longwood Gardens. This iconic botanical garden boasts a spectacular Christmas event. On display through Jan. 12, the gardens feature hundreds of thousands of lights and holiday decorations throughout the sprawling property. This holiday season coincides with the debut of a 17-acre expansion of the conservatory and grounds. Visit Nemours Estate in Wilmington for its annual Noël at Nemours event. Delight in holiday decorations and live music performances through Dec. 29, when the estate closes for the winter months.
