Mention Paso Robles and most people think of one thing: wine. And can you really blame them? This Central California town is known for its vineyards and wine lovers from around the world flock to sample its flavorful vinos. From romantic weekends to bachelorette parties, it has quite a reputation as a great destination for adults.

But Paso Robles is slowly changing that reputation with incredible kid-friendly experiences that make it the perfect place for mom and dad to enjoy some romance and wine without having to leave the kids behind.

Little ones will love spots like Paso Robles Children’s Museum, where they can learn through play. Giving Tree Family Farm is another great spot, where farm animals await and your little ones can make friends with animals’ little ones. These family-friendly activities are a great way to spend the morning, making sure the kids get to enjoy activities designed just for them, so parents can enjoy some time wine tasting guilt-free in the afternoon.

Teens love a good zip line, and neighboring Santa Margarita is home to a spot that gives kids a chance to enjoy the vineyards as much as their parents do, but from a bird’s-eye point of view. Margarita Adventures gives them a place to fly through the sky over some of the area’s most beautiful pinot noir vineyards. There are six lines to choose from, including tandem lines that let parents ride the line alongside their kids.

After a day of exploring and enjoying the area, downtown Paso Robles is the place to be. There is a beautiful open area in the center of town with plenty of space for the kids to play. Here, the trees are lit up beautifully in a year-round display. A seemingly endless supply of boutiques and restaurants offers plenty of options for dining and shopping and, of course, you can stop in at a wine-tasting room or two if you need a little reminder you are in the heart of wine country.
