Brightline recently unveiled its Brightline Orlando Station at Orlando International Airport, offering family travelers modern, eco-friendly, intercity rail from the airport. The station connects central and south Florida, with ticket sales launching this month for future dates. One-way fares start at $79 for SMART tickets and $149 for PREMIUM, while families can purchase SMART bundles for four for less than $199 one way.
“Brightline’s Orlando Station sets a new benchmark for travel that establishes a seamless, convenient and comfortable experience built for today’s modern traveler. The station is packed with amenities for future guests and has an encompassing sense of arrival from the moment you enter,” said Patrick Goddard, president, Brightline. “We’ve curated an experience well beyond time-savings and we can’t wait to welcome guests onboard.”
Located in MCO’s new 80,000-square-foot Train Station facility adjacent to Terminal C, travelers can purchase tickets from guest services or self-service kiosks, check luggage and proceed through touchless turnstiles into the security screening tunnel. Through security, guests enter the two-story Brightline station with amenities including Mary Mary Bar, with cocktails and light bites; the iconic, split-flap message board to provide updated train schedules and more; and MRKT PLACE retail experience. There’s also high-speed WiFi, charging stations at every seat, 87 big-screen televisions, a BrightKids play area and more.
The two classes include SMART and PREMIUM, with PREMIUM tickets including complimentary meals, snacks and beverages; a dedicated first-class lounge; free checked luggage; priority boarding; and a dedicated coach.
“The Federal Railroad Administration is committed to growing a safer, cleaner, more equitable rail system. We know investments in passenger rail mean more efficient travel for riders, more economic development in towns and cities, less congestion on our roads, and less pollution in our air,” said Amit Bose, administrator, Federal Railroad Administration. “The City of Orlando and surrounding communities will benefit from the new travel options and opportunities that come with this new rail station, and we applaud today’s investment in passenger rail.”
Service begins this summer between Miami and Orlando, with a non-stop run time of two hours and 59 minutes. Regular service stops at all Brightline stations, including West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and Aventura, for a 3.5-hour run time.
