Don’t be fooled by the wintery name; Snowmass, Colorado, has plenty of outdoor activities for family travelers this summer.
Located in the center of Snowmass’s village, Limelight Snowmass offers the perfect home base for families looking for a trip filled with summertime thrills. The property recently launched a new Family Adventure Package, where families who book at least three nights receive a $400 credit to the Lost Forest, a summertime playground featuring zip lining, ropes courses, the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster, hiking trails, a high-mountain fishing pond, disc golf, paintballing, in-room s’mores and more.
Other adventurous summer activities include:
Rock Climbing
Take on one of Colorado’s tallest indoor rock-realistic climbing walls. The five-story, child-friendly climbing wall runs directly up the front of the hotel and has a granite-like surface that resembles other climbs near Snowmass.
Snowmass Rodeo’s 50th Anniversary
This summer, Snowmass Rodeo celebrates its 50th anniversary with the unveiling of its new rodeo arena and two months of rodeo classics like barrel riding, saddle bronc and bull riding.
Free Outdoor Concerts
The long-standing tradition of the Snowmass Free Concert Series celebrates 32 years of free live music with its return to Fanny Hill every Thursday until Aug. 22.
Mountain Biking
Snowmass Mountain is one of the United States’ most sought-after mountain biking destinations. The International Mountain Biking Association named Roaring Fork Valley an IMBA Gold-Level Ride Center.
Maroon Bells
Known as one of the most photographed places in America, Maroon Bells is a must-see while visiting Snowmass. Snap pictures of the mountain-lake reflection while strolling or biking along the lake or hiking up to points such as Crater Lake.
