Wisconsin Dells has been a summertime family favorite for decades, with family travelers flocking to the vacation destination to see water shows and enjoy its many water parks, including one that has helped families make memories for 25 years. More than two decades since it launched a waterpark empire in the Dells, The Kalahari Resort is going strong as an all-around destination for the entire family.
The resort has luxurious accommodations ranging from guestrooms to suites to villas to a soon-to-come collection of treehouse suites. Stays include access to the outdoor waterpark, complete with a splash zone (Splash Oasis) and indoor waterpark, where the temperature is always 84 degrees.
When the water has taken its toll, there is still plenty to do. Nearby Timbavati Wildlife Park is a great place for animal lovers, and Tom Foolery’s Adventure Park, home to Tom Foolery Arcade, is jam-packed with rides, games and activities for all ages. The arcade includes Volcano Lounge and Lanes, where the whole family can enjoy a game of bowling.
Whether you’ve got little ones, teens or tweens, there are attractions they will all love. And parents and grandparents can join in on the fun, too. Adults can get their fill of fun watching the kids play in the water, or have some fun of their own taking part in some of the other activities the resort offers that are designed to make it the perfect multigen destination, like relaxing in the spa or teeing off at the nearby golf course.
When it comes to food, there is an impressive range of dining options covering a variety of cuisines — in other words, something for everyone. You can grab a quick bite (or drink) to go, enjoy a sit-down meal or give everyone in the family the chance to find exactly what they want at the breakfast buffet.
The resort is thoughtfully planned out to accommodate everyone’s needs, so you’ll even find a sensory-friendly calming room to help young guests decompress if the noise, action and excitement of the resort gets to be too much and causes a sensory overload.
