On your way to Boston? Pack your favorite spoon! Museum of Ice Cream has a new, permanent home at Boston Seaport, set to open in 2024. The space has been designed by the team at MOIC and will feature two floors with 14 fun, interactive installations that include disco bananas, ice cream Sox, an exhibit exploring the history of ice cream and a multisensory lab.

“We are thrilled to join the Boston community when we open a permanent location at the Seaport next year,” said Maryellis Bunn, CEO and co-founder, Museum of Ice Cream. “While our goal is to expand Museum of Ice Cream to new cities, we ensure that every city has a bold personality and bright energy that matches ours. Boston is such an iconic destination that we immediately knew it would be a perfect match. We loved getting to dive into Boston’s rich history and stunning architecture to pull inspiration for our immersive exhibits, which we can’t wait to share with locals and visitors from around the world.”

Visitors can also look forward to embarking on 60- to 90-minute tours led by MOIC performers. Tours feature unlimited treats that can be indulged in at various stations along the way. Other spaces include:
- The Sprinkle Pool: A uniquely designed sprinkle pool featuring a multitude of “sprinkles” that are both antimicrobial and biodegradable
- Fenway Park-Inspired Carnival: A fanciful midway playing on Boston’s legendary Fenway Park, with columns designed to suggest baseball bats, as well as plenty of fun and games inspired by baseball
- Mary-E’s Diner: This part-retro, part-futuristic space is where visitors draw together to enjoy a wide selection of ice cream-themed drinks and food to be savored while gazing out over the marina.
- The Hall of Freezers: This space is filled with mysterious refrigerator doors to be opened and explored.
