New York State offers new and exciting experiences for family travel this spring and summer. Throughout the two seasons, plenty of seasonal parades, festivals and outdoor events for travelers and locals alike will be held. Visitors can explore the Empire State while stopping at new restaurants, breweries, lodging, activities and more. Of course, there are all the normal sporting events, museums and family fun activities, as well.

Fun For Kids and Kids at Heart

Head to LEGOLAND New York Resort for family fun, with the 2022 season opening April 8. This year, the resort offers a full calendar of activities and events, including its first-ever July 4th  fireworks celebration, entertainment shows and venues, as well as the brand-new LEGO City Water Playground.

If you have some kids, check out Six Flags Darien Lake in the Greater Niagara region. While the theme park has plenty of thrilling rides, this season the park will debut its new 60-foot-tall Wahoo Wave slide!

Next, visit the Catskills to cool off at Zoom Flume Water Park, set to reopen this June. Whether you want to relax in the lazy river, float around in the wave pool or race your family and friends down the new Rip and Racer Slide, Zoom Flume Water Park offers it all.

Dining and Drinks

In Verona, Oneida County, 7 Kitchens at Turning Stone opens this month as a reimagined eatery, with seven market-style stations with a variety of dishes. Located in Ulster County town of Woodstock, Good Night offers a family-style menu of dishes styled around Southeast Asian Cuisine.

Locust Grove Brewery Barn in Milton, Ulster County, turns juicy fruit into hard cider and craft beverages along with a rotating selection of food trucks. Bricktown Bierhaus, Stony Point Brewing Company’s first taproom, is set to open this spring in West Haverstraw, Rockland County.
