A new, interactive maze exhibit debuts at Virginia Aquarium on Jan. 20, and runs through April 28. Rainforest Adventure explores one of the most diverse and endangered ecosystems on our planet. The aquarium also recently opened its South Building following a $28.9 million expansion and renovation, and opens Mermaid Bay Café.

Mark Dion and Alexis Rockman: Journey to Nature’s Underworld Exhibit
At Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, a traveling exhibit features about 30 large-scale paintings and sculptures from Mark Dion and Alexis Rockman.
For festivals, check out New Spring Music Festival, April 26–28, and New Virginia Beach Reggae Festival, May 31–June 2.
New restaurant and bar Hackers and Hilltop boasts golf simulators and a cigar room, and a LEGO Store is now open at Virginia Beach Town Center. For its 50th anniversary, Mt. Trashmore will upgrade its Kids’ Cove playground. Other developments underway include construction on Atlantic Surf Park; and the 10-foot-wide, paved Virginia Beach Trail.
