Jekyll Island’s Georgia Sea Turtle Center just opened a new interactive exhibit, and family travelers to the South Georgia island will find some exciting marine and terrestrial wildlife beyond sea turtles. The new exhibit highlights the center’s expansive conservation and rehabilitation efforts for a wide range of species that share Jekyll Island with the beloved sea turtles.

The launch coincides with upcoming spring break travels, allowing families to plan an educational vacation this spring, complete with hands-on, multi-gen experiences engaging both adults and children.
Also new this year is a live tracker, allowing visitors to keep track of diamondback terrapin crossings and sea turtle nests on Jekyll Island.

In addition to the new exhibit, the center offers behind-the-scenes tours to further learn about rehabilitation from arrival to release. This tour brings visitors to treatment areas to get up-close encounters with wildlife patients not viewable from public areas.
Looking ahead to summer, the island and center offer summer beach programs, beginning this June. The program offers rides with dawn and night patrols, as well as evening and sunrise turtle walks. Sign up here to be notified when tickets for the program go live.

Icelandair is well-known for its stopover program, which allows passengers to stay in Iceland for a few days at no extra charge. It’s a great way for families to see a new place and explore a new country on their way to and from Europe. When my family travels, we enjoy spending a couple days exploring Reykjavik and Iceland’s natural beauty as part of our trip. Iceland has become one of my family’s favorite destinations. We always find something new to do, no matter how many times we visit.
