Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa recently introduced a variety of new experiences, perfect for family travel. After undergoing a multimillion-dollar guestroom and lobby renovation, the resort offers guests even more of an authentic Hawai’ian experience. The resort added new activities to go along with the theme.  Some of the activities include:

Drums of the Pacific Luau

Celebrating more than 40 years at the resort, the nightly Drums of the Pacific Luau underwent enhancements to take guests on a journey through the Pacific. Additions include a lei demonstration, a signature drum number and new costumes with contemporary Hawai’ian designs. While enjoying the show, guests can indulge in a three-course dinner, an open bar with new craft cocktails and Polynesian crafts.

Social Media Mermaid

Teens aged 12 and up can learn to take the best poolside selfie during this program. Guests can step up their social media game while posing in their rented mermaid tail. Along with taking and posting Boomerangs, Reels and TikToks, guests learn how to swim with the tails so they can feel like an island mermaid.

Astrophotographer Workshop

Maui is one of the best places to see a crystal-clear view of the stars and constellations, especially from the top of Lahaina Tower. Every Monday night, guests can meet with NASA astronomer Eddie Mahoney for a chance to learn about astrophotography. Guests can use the brand-new Celestron Deluxe HD telescope along with their cameras to capture stunning pictures of the night sky.

Marine Life Talks

The resort’s Wildlife Team leads a 20-minute Marine Life Talks to teach guests about animals living under the sea. On Mondays, guests learn about the Amazing Airbreathers, Totally Jawsome creatures on Wednesday, and Colorful Fish and Spineless Wonders on Fridays. Each guest receives a colorful laminated sheet to help them follow along, as well as fun props and an educational coloring sheet to take home.

Family Fun Fitness Classes

Each morning, 9:15– 9:45 a.m., families can start their day by getting their bodies moving in a Family Fun Fitness Class. Connect the mind and body in Fit/Form/Function, dance in Dance & Flow, relax in Family Fun Yoga or engage in high-energy circuit training in EveryBodies Fitness.
