With the holidays around the corner, family travelers looking for holiday wonderlands should consider Pennsylvania’s various light displays. You’ll even find the “Christmas Tree Capital of the World” in Indiana County. Below are some can’t-miss holiday experiences, displays and destinations in Pennsylvania this season:
In Eastern Pennsylvania, Bethlehem welcomes more than 100 of the country’s finest artisans at Christkindlemarkt. The destination and market itself are one of the state’s most popular ways to get into the holiday spirit.
Take a trip back to Victorian times with a trip to Wellsboro in Central Pennsylvania. The Dickens of Christmas event is a favorite of holiday lovers trying to escape crowded holiday destinations and visit somewhere lesser-known.
Up in the Pocono Mountains, Jim Thorpe hosts an Old Time Christmas with train rides, decorations and holiday shopping.
Heading into the city, Philadelphia’s Macy’s Christmas Light Show dazzles travelers and locals alike with spectacular displays, the Dickens Village and music from the world’s largest playing pipe organ. Afterwards, head to Dilworth Park and the Christmas Market.
In Pennsylvania’s other major city, Pittsburgh, enjoy the Peoples Gas Holiday Market, a place offering last-minute downtown shopping and exciting culinary and cultural scenes.
Don’t forget about Hershey Park, which hosts Christmas Candylane at Hersheypark. The park is illuminated by 5 million lights, has a choreographed light show, and other entertainment and rides. Of course, the park also offers sweet, delicious chocolate treats.
