The annual Philadelphia Flower Show will look a little different in 2021. The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society announced the iconic annual event will move outside for summer 2021. The show will take place at Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park in South Philadelphia, June 5–13, 2021. This marks the first time in the event’s history that it will take place outdoors.
Typically held in late winter, the summer dates and outdoor location will allow for new opportunities for the floral presentations.
“We are thrilled to be able to celebrate the outdoors and offer joy and beauty after a year that has been marked by so many challenges. This experience is a wonderful example of the enduring and combined power of green space, plants, and gardeners to create impact and inspiration,” said Sam Lemheney, chief of shows and events, Philadelphia Horticultural Society.
The Philadelphia Horticultural Society is closely working with city officials to comply with CDC guidelines for the event, including specific timed and dated ticketing to allow for controlled attendance, social distancing and enhanced cleaning procedures.
Tickets go on sale in January. Attendees must reserve a date and time to visit. Advanced purchase is encouraged as tickets are limited.
