Halloween is a fun time to be a kid – dressing up, getting free candy and scaring yourself silly is almost a rite of passage in America. For family travelers visiting Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach along Florida’s Charlotte Harbor Gulf Island Coast, Halloween is an ideal time to experience the area’s appeal.
Weekends from Oct. 13 through Oct. 31, Halloween Notte brings the scary to the Charlotte County Fairgrounds with a Halloween festival for the whole family. The event consists of both daytime and nighttime events offering different levels of fright to accommodate all age groups.
Little ones will love daytime activities like the pumpkin patch, petting zoo and bounce house, while costume contests and pumpkin carving contests will get the competitive juices flowing. A maze and rides and carnival rides will be fun for the whole family, while the Haunted Dance Party and three unique haunted houses are designed to be the perfect mixture of fun and fright once the sun goes down.
Guests are encouraged to dress up and can enjoy food and beverages, craft vendors and face painting. Tickets for the festival, Friday, 4 p.m.–midnight, and Saturday and Sunday. 11 a.m.–midnight with extra dates added for Oct. 30 and 31, can be purchased in advance online or in person at the door.
