Celebrate 30 years of Philly Pride this year during the biggest celebration to date. PrideDay 2018 brings out more participants, event stalls and activities this year than ever before. Guests enjoy family-friendly parades, live entertainment and festivities all weekend with the main event culminating Sunday, June 10.
During the first Philadelphia Pride Parade in 1988, festivalgoers began marching in Rittenhouse Square, but now the LGBTQ Pride festivities begin in the heart of the Gayborhood, on the corner of 13th and Locust streets. Beginning at 11:30 a.m., guests begin along the 1.5-mile walk through Center City and Philadelphia’s historic district ending at the Great Plaza in Penn’s Landing. The scenic walk and ending site are perfect for a day of festivities, beginning around 1 p.m.
This is a popular event so locals know to get up early and get in line on Chestnut Street for their event wristband. Traveling into the city for the big day? No problem, just get in early and make a weekend out of it.
Stay in Center City within walking distance of the parade, or opt for Old City or the waterfront for easy access to the admission booths. Either way you’ll find a slew of family-friendly accommodations and weekend activities to enjoy. Tickets are $15 each and grant access to the main event under the Penn’s Landing tents, including live shows, performances and fun.
For those getting into the city early, grab a wristband for just $10 at the block party on Friday, June 8, at 6 p.m., where guests can enjoy the pre-party event and get ready for the fun weekend ahead.
