Travel Tips

Just because it’s winter, it doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy camping with the family. When planning a cold-weather camping trip, make sure to bring along these products for a safe and warm experience.

Sleeping Pads

Bringing a sleeping bag is a no-brainer, but for extra warmth and comfort, invest in a sleeping pad. The pads offer extra insulation from the ground. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes and prices for different budgets. Try one of these options from REI.

Camping Stove

Purchase a portable camping stove so you can enjoy a hot meal during your camping trip. Coleman offers a variety of stoves available in different sizes.

Waterproof Clothing

Prepare for rain or snow with waterproof clothing, particularly jackets and boots. Gore-Tex is known for its high-quality waterproof products, including outerwear, footwear, gloves and other accessories.

Hand/Feet Warmers

For some added warmth, use hand and feet warmer packs. These provide instant heat for cold-weather activities. L.L. Bean offers a set containing both hand and feet warmers.

Layers

Make sure you pack plenty of layers you can add or shed, depending on the temperature. Opt for a base layer on top and bottom, made with moisture-wicking material. Bring extra of whatever you pack.

Dine on the Ocean Floor in New Brunswick, Canada

The astonishing tides of the Bay of Fundy offer plenty of experiences for family travelers in Maritime Canada. The newest of these is the chance to eat dinner on the floor of the ocean, seated beneath towering cliffs and tide-carved sea stacks. Return the next day to see your former “dining room” under 40 feet of ocean.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United Airlines is in the midst of a major initiative to modernize its fleet over the next several years. After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.

Introduce the Family to Saudi Culture at the AlUla Camel Cup

Visiting Saudi Arabia means introducing the family to a country rich in culture and history, giving the kids experiences they won’t get anywhere else in the world. I spent several years living as an expat in this desert kingdom, and the experiences I had were not only completely unique but also helped shape my perspective on the world today.
