Family travelers plan for summer vacations, but for many parents, pre-summer excitement is often more nerve-racking than any other emotion. Sandals Resorts recently surveyed American couples with children, finding that while many look forward to summer pleasures like a family vacation (40 percent) and time outdoors (20 percent), nearly 60 percent experience stress ahead of summer family travel.
Other factors stressing parents ahead of summer include balancing work and having kids at home (44 percent), pressure to keep kids busy and engaged (33 percent) and the cost of activities like camp (19 percent).
Sandals Resorts has the perfect antidote, offering a last-minute opportunity for partners to connect in paradise with free vacation nights. The survey, part of the Sandals Institute of Romance initiative to explore the latest trends in modern love, also found 80 percent of parents would welcome alone time with their significant other ahead of summer vacation. Another 57 percent noted it’s harder to connect with partners during summer.
The Sandals’ answer? Through May 31, couples booking three nights at a participating Sandals Resort receive a fourth night free, valid on travel May 1–June 15. Rates start as low as $220 per person, per night at Sandals Resorts in Jamaica, Antigua, the Bahamas, St. Lucia and more.
