The Arizona Biltmore Hotel, a Waldorf Astoria Resort tucked away along the foothills of the Phoenix mountains, offers family travelers a luxurious stay in a historic resort. The hotel brings elegance and the ultimate in both fun and relaxation to generations of guests.
During your stay, relax by one of seven pools like Twist, a kid-friendly pool complete with a triple water slide; play golf; or take lessons from LPGA teaching professional Tina Tombs, Guests can also enjoy drinks and live music at Wright Bar where the iconic tequila sunrise cocktail was invented in the 1930s by bartender Gene Sulit. You can also spend time exploring the shops or the luxurious grounds that have played host to notable guests such as presidents and celebrities like Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra.
The resort underwent a $100-million reinvention in 2020, upgrading facilities to keep the property at the cutting edge of service and elegance, all while maintaining the glory of this storied hotel, such as the centerpiece of the resort’s main entrance: a beautiful, stained-glass piece based on an original Frank Lloyd Wright colored pencil drawing titled “Saguaro Forms and Cactus Flowers.”
There is even an homage to one of the resort’s best- (or perhaps worst-) kept secrets, the Mystery Room. This room once served as a speakeasy in the 1920s and has seen its own reinvention as guests discover this hidden treasure.
Today, the resort offers 90-minute walking tours of the resort led by historians eager to share the property’s storied past and the marvelous restoration efforts to return the property to its original glory.
