The Pink Lady: A Kind and Much-Loved Spirit

At The Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina, you’ll hear tales of the Pink Lady, a popular spirit known to lurk the halls of the hotel for nearly a century. This year, the hotel honors the spirit with the Pink Lady Party on Oct. 29. The event includes private tarot card readings, small plates, games and live music. Guests can also enjoy the hot cider station and vote for their favorite pumpkin carvings by staff.

The Princess: The Ghost of an Early 20th-Century Woman

Planning a trip to the Omni Mount Washington in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire? This hotel’s resident ghost, called The Princess, is believed to be the spirit of Carolyn Foster Stickney, the wife of a railroad tycoon who used to live at the hotel. Her spirit is so well-known, the crew of the show Ghost Hunters even came to investigate. Carolyn’s husband built a private dining room for her called the Princess Room, and today, guests report sightings of Carolyn in a regal, Victorian dress, in hallways. Some even say they’ve heard her tap on their doors and move objects in the rooms. The most appearances of Carolyn, however, are traced to Room 314, where it is claimed she’s seen sitting at the edge of the four-poster bed, the same bed where Carolyn used to sleep.

Jilted Bride’s Ghostly Haunts

See or hear for yourself the ghost of a jilted bride stalking the 14th floor of the Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia. Lore says this woman was to be married at the property in the 20th century, but her groom-to-be caught cold feet, resulting in the shamed woman ending her life. Guests and staff today report sightings of her apparition, the outline resembling a woman in a wedding gown.
