Caribbean

If your family travels take you to the Caribbean this fall, don’t miss out on these hot spots and activities, all brought to you by Bahia Principe Resorts.

Island Hopping

At Bahia Principe Grand El Portillo, enjoy a full day out on the water to see Los Haitises National Park, the largest mangrove forest in the Caribbean, to admire its 98-foot-high rock formations and explore its caves, cays and bird colonies. Don’t forget to stop at Cayo Levantado, home to delicious food and lovely beaches.

Turtle Sightings

With a half-day excursion at sea with Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal, guests can discover marine life and witness turtles in their natural habitat. Enter the lush and abundant tropical jungle to find an enclosed cenote where you can swim in the crystal waters. Afterwards, visit Sayab Cavern for a magical journey through limestone formations, stalactites and stalagmites.

Water Reservoirs

Bahia Principe Sian Ka’an offers guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, which features more than 500,000 hectares of tropical ecosystems and comprises part of the second-largest reef in the world. Hop on a boat safari to visit the mangroves to see a variety of birds, crocodiles, sea turtles and dolphins. Travelers can also go snorkeling in the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, a one-of-a-kind experience.

Whale Watching

Each year, hundreds of whales migrate to the warmer waters of the Dominican Republic for feeding, mating and giving birth. The whale-watching season starts in January and ends in March, giving guests the opportunity to catch a glimpse of beautiful whales. Samaná is known as a sanctuary for humpback whales, as the waters are off-limits to all boats except whale-watching boats. Travelers can take part in this experience at Bahia Principe Samaná.

Thrilling Adventures

Adrenaline junkies and thrill seekers can take their trip to a new level by zip lining above the white earth region, embarking on a safari truck-type tour through the mountainous landscapes and enjoying a buggy ride through the coffee plantations, natural oases and hidden beaches. Upgrade to the VIP adventure for snorkeling, cave explorations and more. These activities can be found at Bahia Principe Luxury Samaná and Bahia Principe Grand El Portillo.
