Walmart, in partnership with Expedia Group’s White Label Template technology, now offers a travel benefit for family travelers who are also Walmart+ members: WalmartPlusTravel.com, where users can book travel and get Walmart Cash. Walmart+ members receive 5 percent Walmart Cash on hotels, vacation rentals, car rentals and activities bookings; 2 percent on all flights; and a blended rate of Walmart Cash on vacation packages.

“We’re delighted to launch this collaboration with Walmart, America’s largest retailer, making planning, shopping and booking travel a new and seamless part of Walmart’s shopping experience. Together, we’re connecting Walmart’s massive customer base with Expedia Group’s extensive array of travel supply partners from all around the world,” said Ariane Gorin, president, Expedia for Business. “What’s exciting is that with this collaboration, Walmart customers will benefit from Expedia’s ongoing innovation through TravelOS, our A.I.-powered travel operating system, as we continue to add new product and feature updates to drive the best traveler experience.”

Travel on WalmartPlusTravel.com offers access to more than 900,000 properties, 500-plus airlines, 100-plus car rental companies and thousands of activities worldwide. Walmart+ members can access travel through the member benefits hub in the app or online, easily book and see Walmart Cash appear in their Walmart wallet 30 days after travel is complete.

“We’re bringing together the ultimate savings membership and vacation booking site to deliver a first-ever travel-focused benefit for Walmart+ members,” said Venessa Yates, senior vice president and general manager, Walmart+. “Combined with our other benefits – including free delivery, streaming and savings on fuel – we’re creating a membership that saves customers time and money, whether they’re at home or having fun at their favorite vacation destination.”

Walmart+ members can access Expedia Group’s top-tier customer service, like the A.I.-powered Virtual Agent tool.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.

The Phoenix of American Railroads Runs Again in 2024

An amazing story in railroad preservation and operation is back for family travelers to enjoy in 2024: the narrow gauge East Broad Top Railroad in Pennsylvania. The 150-year-old railroad with steam engines, passenger cars and caboose shut down in 1956 and was on the verge of being scrapped before the scrap dealer actually saved it due to historical significance and charm. Today, its back up and running, attracting tens of thousands of visitors on its 28 miles of track.
