Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, officially announced the opening date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Family travelers can soon experience this new ride when it opens June 28.

The ride took over the former Splash Mountain and will include some similar elements to the former ride. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure transports parkgoers to the Louisiana bayous and ends with an exciting 50-foot drop.

Spanish moss, water lilies and more embody the natural beauty of New Orleans. The ride continues the storyline where the movie, The Princess and the Frog, left off. Riders experience Tiana preparing a special celebration for Mardi Gras and can sing along to songs from the film. Riders might even catch the scent of freshly made beignets …

New audio animatronics of characters like Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, Louis, Eudora and more can be spotted along the ride, as well as a new band of musical animals made specifically for the ride.

The new ride is perfect for kids, tweens, teens and adults. Riders must be 40 inches or taller. The same ride will open in late 2024 at Disneyland Resort in California.

How to Prepare Kids to Eat Foreign Foods Before a Trip

While adults may consider new foods among the greatest joys of visiting new places, unfamiliar food may be the biggest hurdle for parents traveling with young children. Most kids are instinctively resistant to new flavors and to foods that look strange to them. A little advance planning can help ease kids into new cuisines and flavors.
