Outdoor Adventures

Billings offers hikers and mountain bikers more than 47 miles of trails. The multiuse, paved Skyline Trail opened in December 2023, providing better access to runners, walkers, bicyclists and people with mobility issues. Head to dark sky location, Acton Recreation Area, for prime stargazing opportunities.

For Animal Lovers

Visit ZooMontana during your trip. The zoo and botanical garden welcomed two male grizzly bear cubs in fall 2023. Many of the state’s species are on display, including American bison, gray wolves and sloths.


Lively Culinary Scene

Billings’ culinary scene is booming. Nick Steen Guillings, chef and owner, Walkers Grill, was a 2024 James Beard Award Semifinalist for Best Chef: Mountain. Veronika’s Pastry Shop is home to 2023 James Beard Award Semifinalist for Outstanding Pastry Chef, Veronika Gerasimova.  The shop specializes in a rotating selection of French, Russian and Eastern European pastries. The Marble Table features seasonal, elevated comfort food. The restaurant was a recent James Beard Award semifinalist for Best New Restaurant.
