Lee County is home to six of Florida’s state parks. Be sure to make time during your stay to visit Gasparilla Island State Park, Koreshan State Park, Mound House Archaeological State Park, Lovers Key State Park, Cayo Costa State Park and Estero Bay Preserve State Park. Outdoor lovers should also consider participating in the seasonal wet walks at Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve. The 2024 season runs Aug. 17–Oct. 28.
The region hosts many popular annual events and festivals including Island Hopper Songwriter Fest, Cape Coral Oktoberfest and American Sand Sculpting Championship, taking place this summer and fall.
