What’s New in San Diego this Fall

San Diego, California, is the perfect destination for family travel this fall. Check out these hotel updates and cultural offerings just in time for fall travel.

 

Hotel La Jolla recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation, including the debut of restaurant Sea & Sky. Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina completed its next installment of a $100-million, property-wide renovation, with the unveiling of a transformed lobby and three dining concepts. Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa offers guests two new dining concepts: The Palma Bar & Grille and The Trading Post Café & Bar. Omni San Diego Hotel announced the completion of its large-scale renovation.

 

Several San Diego museums and institutions participate in The Getty Foundation’s annual art event, PST ART. This year’s edition, PST ART: Art & Science Collide, feature exhibitions on topics including artificial intelligence, ancient cosmologies, indigenous sci-fi and environmental justice. The San Diego Museum of Art hosts a special exhibit on the intersections of art and science in Islamic culture. Oceanside Museum of Art features an exhibit of works from 20 contemporary artists on environmental and cultural challenges facing the Pacific Ocean. The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego exhibits For Dear Life: Art, Medicine, and Disability.  Open through Feb. 2, 2025, the exhibit covers artistic responses to sickness, health and medicine.

 

La Jolla Playhouse’s fall lineup features can’t-miss productions. Pulitzer Prize-winning play Primary Trust makes its West Coast debut with a Sept. 24–Oct. 20 run. The comedic play Your Local Theater Presents: A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens, Again, graces the playhouse stage Nov. 19–Dec. 15.

Groups of up to five members can now share and redeem miles in one linked account. As the first and only major U.S. airline to offer this feature, United also allows any MileagePlus member, whether relatives or close friends, to be in a pool with other members.
