What’s New in Virginia Beach in 2023

Now on display at Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, Collector’s Edition and Open (C)all 2023: Curious Collections highlights the art and passion of different collectors. Curating collected works of local art enthusiasts, MOCA showcases a love for a variety of celebrated creators. The collection is complete with a custom playlist of nearly 50 audio tracks compiled by a local record store. The tracks tie together the exhibit’s artists and collectors. Guests can preview the new exhibits through a digital guide on Bloomberg Connects, a free arts and culture mobile app showcasing a network of more than 200 museums and cultural institutions.

Certified as Bee City USA, Virginia Beach recognizes the importance of all native pollinators. This summer, the destination supports the population by installing artisan bee hotels, providing shelter for solitary carpenter bees to lay their eggs while inviting biodiversity back into the environment.

Adding to the Bee City USA certification, Virginia Aquarium hosts a special gallery exhibit this September, showcasing the interconnected world of pollinator species with humans. Entrance into the exhibition is included with regular aquarium admission.

For families hitting the beach, don’t miss a minute of fun in the sun with Dune Delivery from Taste Unlimited Oceanfront location. The sandwich and gourmet shop brings the picnic to the beach 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Beachgoers just phone in and pay for their lunch selections, then meet the delivery driver at the closest beach entrance to receive their delicious meal.
