A picturesque Pacific Northwest spooky visit awaits family travelers in Seattle NorthCountry, where forest cabin retreats, pumpkin patches, haunted farms, corn mazes and more dot the landscape.
Pumpkin Patches and Good Scares
At Stalker Farms, expect haunted attractions with original storylines, trained actors and custom-made costumes. This seasonal event is open through Nov. 2. For a paranormal experience, head to downtown Snohomish, where historical locations like Oxford Saloon and Blackman House Museum promise ghostly encounters and interesting stories. Take a daytrip into Monte Cristo Ghost Town for some ghost hunting. This deserted mining site dates back to the 1900s and is rife with paranormal activity.
Port of Everett Waterfront Festivities
Pick your favorite pumpkin or journey into a labyrinth of a corn maze at Bob’s Corn & Pumpkin Farms’ annual fall festival. Also in the area is Thomas Family Farms, where families can choose from the 149 varieties of pumpkins. This year, Craven Farm, Snohomish Valley’s original pumpkin patch, features an Alice in Pumpkin-land Maze, rubber duck races, human foosballs, a petting zoo and an apple cannon. And spiced lattes and bourbon await at The Muse Whiskey & Coffee Bar.
Scenic Drives
To see the natural beauty of the region, venture along the winding rivers and dense forests via Mountain Loop Highway, which leads drivers through the heart of the Cascade Mountains and Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Or, take the Cascade Loop Scenic Byway to see Stevens Pass Greenway and the charming towns lining the Skykomish and Snohomish River Valleys.
Cozy Cabins, Tasty Cider
Cuddle up by the fire in a classic A-frame cabin in the woods, or enjoy a one-of-a-kind stay in a Treeframe cabin or a geodesic dome with views of the Skykomish Valley’s most beautiful peaks. And after a day of pumpkin patches and haunted attractions, sip on local ciders at Spada Farmhouse Brewery.
