Portland is an amazing place to visit with the family anytime of year but if you happen to be in town this Easter, you and your little ones are in for a real treat. The family-friendly city is bursting with fun activities to celebrate the holiday.
Head to the zoo April 20 for the annual rabbit romp, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Specially designed with young children in mind, this annual celebration includes a fun-filled day of Easter egg hunts, coloring activities and Easter-themed crafts. And because no trip to the zoo would be complete without lots of animals, there will be plenty of furry friends on hand to meet and entertain the children.
The Easter Bunny will make a special appearance to take photos with the kids and two separate egg hunts will be held throughout the day, one for kids 3–10 years old and one just for kids 2 and under. The hunts will include compostable eggs filled with candy and prizes, making sure the kids have a great, safe time participating in the festivities.
The romp is free to participate in with a paid zoo admission ($17.95 for adults, $12.95 for kids 3–17, kids 2 and under get in for free).
Easter Brunch Cruise on the Portland Spirit
This family-friendly cruise down the Willamette River is a great way to see the city and spend some quality time enjoying the holiday with the family. The Portland Spirit‘s Easter Champagne Brunch Cruises offer two-hour cruises complete with a brunch buffet, Champagne (sparkling cider for the little ones), live music and Easter gifts for the children, all while enjoying the beautiful sites of the city from the water. Cruises board at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., tickets start at $30 for children and $60 for adults.
Egg Hunt and Tea at Pix Patisserie
While you’re in town stop in at Pix Patisserie for its Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza and Easter Sunday Tea event. This French bakery offers a delectable array of sweets, desserts and beverages and on Easter Sunday there will be golden eggs hidden throughout the premises, some of which will be hiding golden tickets good for $50 in bakery goodies. Tea time starts at 2 and 2:30 p.m.; for $38 guests will get a pot of tea along with an assortment of sweet and savory treats.
