Multigenerational travel continues to be a huge trend in the travel industry and it comes with some perks, so it’s easy to see why. Everyone gets to spend quality time together, but when a multigenerational trip is planned correctly, everyone also gets a little alone time and privacy as well.
Beach resorts are especially a good choice for multigenerational travel as they often offer something for everyone, and at an appealing price, as you generally have all your dining and entertainment options right on site. Mom and dad can have a private dinner date while the grandparents take the grandkids for a fun evening of kid-friendly food and activities. Those in the family who love high-adrenaline thrills can find them in the same place your low-key family members can enjoy a lounge on the beach or a trip to the spa. Everyone’s happy.
Las Brisas Huatulco is a great pick for your next multigenerational getaway, with its 50 acres of tropical gardens along Tangolunda Bay in Mexico. The huge resort includes nearly 500 guestrooms across four villages and endless amenities.
A kids club — Little Angel’s Club — provides games and toys for your smallest travelers. Out in the resort, they can enjoy a separate children’s pool for a gentle splash and play experience. Once on the beach, they have access to a sandbox stocked with tons of beach toys for building the ultimate sand castle.
For the active travelers in your family, they can take advantage of 11 tennis courts, soccer, a bungee pyramid, kayaking, snorkeling and windsurfing.
Parents and adults will love the adults-only dance lessons, lush gardens, ample beach loungers, cocktails at every turn and choice of five different restaurants with an array of worldwide cuisines. There’s also an adults-only pool, as well as a semi-Olympic pool, if you need to get your laps in.
After everyone’s had their adventures for the day, they can all come together for a meal and a round of competitive mini golf.
There are four different beaches at the resort. Secret Beach offers views of the ocean; Manzanillo Beach is the most popular with bar service, palapas and loungers; Tornillo Beach is one of the nicest in the area; and Ventura Beach is a protected cove safe for weak swimmers and filled with sea life.
