Luxury

Whether you have a little leaguer in your family unit or are a baseball fan yourself, Spring Training is fast approaching — do you know what your family is doing to join the fun?

Each March, Major League Baseball teams head south for some practice and exhibition games ahead of the regular season, and your sporty family can join them. Now is a great time for true-blue fans to flock to the stadiums and get early eyes on their favorite teams and players.

While many fans may think of spring training alongside Florida’s many ballparks, the Cactus League welcomes MLB teams to the Phoenix area every year. If your family wants to join in the fun with a family-friendly stay in a great location, Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort has a bit of something for everyone in your crew — even the less athletically inclined. Be in close proximity to the action for mega fans, and enjoy luxury touches and activities for those just looking for a warm-weather vacation — either way, the Biltmore has you covered.

Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with a goodie bag filled with the essentials, including a baseball and permanent marker to get autographs from the team, and sustenance like peanuts, Cracker Jacks, Twizzlers and Big League Chew Gum to keep the kids going throughout the day — and the adults, let’s be honest — and with 15 fields near the hotel, you’re going to need it.

Once back at the resort, indulge in a Happy Hour History Tour, learning all about Arizona Biltmore’s rich history with the adult children (or not, parents have their fun, too) and a Tequila Sunrise in hand (apparently originated from the property).

Speaking of the property, with 39 acres, five swimming pools, avenues of gardens and gorgeous architecture, this locale is not a bad home base for the remainder of your trip. You can easily soak up the Arizona sun by the pool, play tennis, enjoy afternoon tea, hit the spa, make a tee time, plan an off-site adventure through the stunning desert landscape, go shopping and check out downtown Phoenix or see what else is nearby for more must-experience fun while in Arizona.

Check the calendar for seasonal events before your stay. Read more about the Cactus League offer and see if your family’s Spring Training plans could use an upgrade — between the goodies, high-end amenities and luxe guestrooms, this one might be the ultimate crowd pleaser for families.
