While you can buy candy nearly anywhere, there is still something special about going to a store just for sweets. For families with a sweet tooth, these candy stores around the United States will do the trick.
Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Shane Confectionery takes you back in time more than 150 years. The candy store has been around since 1863 and had many owners, but has been owned by the Shane family for most of its life. In 2010, two brothers, Eric and Ryan Berley, bought the store from the Shane family and immediately closed it in order to restore it to its 19th-century glory. Make sure to try one of the brothers’ signature Whirly Berley Bars when you visit!
Candy lovers will be in awe the moment they step inside I LOVE SUGAR. The bright décor, gummy bear chandeliers and a 55-foot wall of candy with more than 80 choices of delicious treats will have you in a sugar coma before even tasting the candy. With locations in Las Vegas, Florida, Texas and South Carolina, there are plenty of opportunities to visit this unique candy store during your travels.
With multiple locations throughout New Hampshire, everyone, candy lover or not, can find something to satisfy a craving at Chutters. With an 112-foot-long candy counter running the whole length of the store, the options are endless. Choose from hard-to-find candies, classic favorites and today’s most popular treats. Candy lovers young and old will love the mouth-watering and fun-filled atmosphere.
Located in Chicago, Candyality goes beyond just sweet treats. Ask one of the cashiers what your “candy personality” is and they can tell you what your favorite candy says about you. This candy store carries thousands of different sweet treats, including more than 21 different colors of M&M’s, a licorice bar and even retro candy.
