The beloved Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, recently celebrated its 50th anniversary Oct. 1. For the next 18 months, they will pull out all the stops to make it the best anniversary ever!

Throughout the upcoming months, Disney will open new attractions and shows, sell special 50th anniversary merchandise, debut new food and beverage offerings and more. Guests are invited to take part in the spectacular celebration. All four parks will be dressed to the nines for the big event. The theme of this party is EARidescent. Step into a celebratory scene with dazzling decorations, new looks for Mickey, Minnie and the gang, and much more magic.

While exploring Magic Kingdom Park, keep an eye out for gilded sculptures of beloved characters such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto and Chip ‘n Dale.

The iconic park icons transform into beacons of magic, beckoning guests of all ages to come celebrate. Every night during the celebration, the icons will light up the sky with magic. Cinderella’s castle will sparkle with pixie dust, Spaceship Earth will shine with hope and optimism, the Hollywood Tower Hotel will glitter with EARidescence, evoking the glimmer and shimmer of the golden age. Warm and glorious lights will shine from the Tree of Life, symbolizing fireflies in the night.

There are a number of new rides and shows slated to open and debut, starting with the opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT; the new nighttime spectacular in Magic Kingdom, Disney Enhancement; and Harmonious, the new night show at EPCOT.

Although these are just a couple of the extravagant events and celebrations taking place during The World’s Most Magical Celebration, there is still more to come. Keep up to date with the news and celebration on Walt Disney World’s website.
