If your family travels take you to Bath, Maine, in January, February and March, Maine Maritime Museum offers free admission to all weekend visitors, thanks to support from Bath Savings. Children 17 and under receive free admission through 2026 courtesy of Central Maine Power. In partnership with Museums for All, anyone with an electronic benefit transfer receives free admission. Present the EBT card at the front desk for free admission for up to four during museum opening hours.
“For 170 years, Bath Savings has supported organizations that are committed to improving the communities we serve,” said Katie Spiridakis, marketing officer, Bath Savings. “We are proud to partner with Maine Maritime Museum to invite everyone to explore this fascinating place free of charge. Winter in Maine can be an isolated time for some; we hope this opportunity inspires people to venture out and connect with the community.”
The museum offers a look at Maine’s maritime culture with permanent and rotating exhibits, educational programs, tours and demonstrations. Tours of the historic Percy & Small shipyard take place Saturday at 1 p.m. Current exhibitions on offer include Women Behind the Lens: The Photography of Emma D. Sewall, Josephine Ginn Banks, and Abbie F. Minott; and Featured Finds, looking at the ongoing research in the area. On Feb. 3, SeaChange: Darkness and Light in the Gulf of Maine opens.
