Travel insurance company Allianz Partners recently revealed the results of its Top 10 Summer Travel Destinations study, just in time for family travelers looking for some inspiration. The team at Allianz analyzed more than 1.6 million flight itineraries of five–eight days in length booked between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Of those flight itineraries, 73 percent were for domestic trips and 27 percent were for international destinations.

The Top 10 Summer Travel Destinations, International, are:
- Cancún, Mexico
- San Jose del Cabo, Mexico
- Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
- Oranjestad, Aruba
- Montego Bay, Jamaica
- Nassau, Bahamas
- Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
- London, England
- Providenciales, Turks & Caicos
- Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands
Florida and Hawai’i prove the most popular vacation states with two cities each in the top 10. The Pacific Northwest draws travelers with Seattle, Washington, and Portland, Oregon, among the most popular destinations for summer travel. Mexican and Caribbean destinations comprise the majority of the international list, with three Mexican destinations in the top 10. For domestic travel, most trips will be six days in length (49 percent), while international vacations will be seven days (59 percent).
