There is a reason Buena Park is known as Southern California’s “Fun City.” Well, many reasons, in fact. From amusement park fun at Knott’s Berry Farm to whimsical adventure at Medieval Times, not to mention the city’s close proximity to other SoCal attractions like Disneyland, it’s no wonder family travelers often choose this great destination as a home base during vacations. But this summer, one Buena Park fan favorite gives families a whole new reason to visit this adventure-packed city.
Pirates Dinner Adventure recently made a pretty big change to its show with the addition of a new cast member: a giant animatronic dragon. While guests cheer on their favorite pirates, the dragon gives crewmembers a whole new foe to battle, elevating the guest experience to a new level. The show, which combines dinner theater with a healthy dose of pirate lore, debuted its newest cast member in June, making it the perfect blend of fantasy, comedy, adventure and great food for a family night out in Southern California.
The show lasts about 1.5 hours and runs Tuesday–Sunday, with two daily performances on Saturday and Sunday. Guests of all ages are welcome and not only is the theater wheelchair accessible, but the menu is also designed with a variety of dietary needs in mind, so you have options ranging from roasted meat dishes to vegan choices with plenty of upgrades and appetizers to choose from.
The performances are interactive, with actors encouraging audiences to let loose and have a good time. They even encourage visitors to dress up in costume if they wish, making it an especially fun experience for the little ones.
