Cleveland is a fun city to explore no matter your age, but when you’ve got teens or tweens, it is a pretty amazing place for family travel. This age group can be hard to please. They aren’t interested in activities geared for little kids and they aren’t quite ready for attractions focused on adult themes, but leave them out and they will make the whole family miserable while they have a terrible time. You need to find ways to keep them busy, entertained and engaged so they don’t feel bored or left out. Read on to find out why Cleveland makes this task easy.

Creating an itinerary that offers something for everyone in the family is key to making sure everyone has a great vacation, and that includes handpicking certain activities they are sure to love. And Cleveland has plenty of great options, like BOSS Pro Karting, where your kids can get in some drive time on an indoor go kart track. They can do one race or several, and everyone in the family can take a turn around the track. In between races there are plenty of other things to do, like grab a bite to eat, play some arcade games, do some axe throwing or visit the virtual reality arena.

Today’s teens and tweens spend a great deal of their time on their phones, but that’s the last thing we want to see on a family vacation. One of the best ways to kick this habit, at least temporarily, is by heading outdoors, and Cleveland is the perfect place to do that. This spring will be a great opportunity to get them involved in some natural science during a visit to Cleveland. The city will be in the path of totality during the total solar eclipse expected April 8. Take the family and get some approved viewing glasses so you and your teens and tweens can experience this rare phenomenon in person.

Visiting a museum may not sound like fun to your kids, but even they will be excited when they learn Cleveland is home to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Teens and tweens will not only love learning about their favorite musicians, but also about some of the greats of the past. Visiting this museum as a family is a great opportunity for bonding as mom and dad show off knowledge about musicians the kids don’t believe they were ever cool enough to listen to.
