Cruising

One reason families love cruising so much? Limitless amounts of good food and drink. Oceania Cruises is one of the leading cruise lines offering idyllic destinations and culinary pairings, especially since it added cooking class cruising expeditions to the 2018 lineup. Be your own chef and bring your family for the 16 all-new cooking classes offered on Oceania’s 2018 European cruises.

Hop on the 1,250-guest vessel and set sail with the first-ever Culinary Center at sea, completely equipped with individual cooking stations and personal attention from pros. Guests choose from new programs, developed by seasoned director of culinary enrichment and chef Kathryn Kelly, with sailings beginning this month.

Diverse lessons cover a broad range of interests and palates including Pucker Up, a class on the importance of lemons in Mediterranean cooking; Ancient Cuisines, showcasing Moroccan and Turkish flavors; All Things Roman, about cuisine from the ancient Roman Empire; Brunch Comforts, focused on the art of entertaining and brunch dishes; Cooking Fresh, favorites from the health-centric Canyon Ranch Spa; Essential Pasta, breaking down homemade pasta and sauce preparation; Greek Tonight, recipes straight from Crete, Corfu, Rhodes and Athens; Grilling Skills; and even specific lessons on Italian and Spanish techniques, fresh fish preparation and knife skills.

For those who feel well versed in a variety of cuisines, opt for one of the new lessons, including Master the Crêpe. French cuisine is world-renowned as one of the most sought-after skills in the kitchen and this lesson will elevate your breakfast game.

Looking for something more unique? Choose the Nordic Kitchen classes focused on cuisine from Scandinavia and Northern Europe. Tour around the Baltic during lessons on Estonian fish soup, Nordic salmon rillettes and even Swedish meatballs.

Rates vary by cruise, but tend to begin around $2,500 per person. Check out more information on the culinary cruising offered on Oceania Cruises here. Learn from the best and teach the kids some impressive life skills while enjoying the unbeatable scenery along the European coastline.
